A1: Ethnic Albanian DPA Party Refuses to Join New Macedonian Government along with Rival Albanian DUI Party

Skopje. The Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) has refused to join the next Macedonian government if Ali Ahmeti’s party, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) was part of it, the Macedonian television A1 reported. Arben Xhaferi’s party grounded its stance on a decision by the Supreme Court of Macedonia to accept the party’s complaints and a date for a new voting to be fixed. DPA thinks that the new voting would provide it with more parliamentary seats. On Friday, DPA’s leaders, Zhaferi and Menduh Taci informed the leader of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization – Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (VMRO-DPMNE) Nikola Grievski of their intention,
“I tried to explain to Gruevski that DPA and VMRO-DPMNE have compatible relations. DUI is a partner of another party”, DPA’s leader Arben Xhaferi stated.
