DUI-PDP coalition blocks roads in northwest Macedonia

Activists and supporters of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) and its ally, Party for Democratic Prosperity (PDP), set up roadblocks just outside the cities of Kumanovo, Skopje, Tetovo, Debar and Struga. No incidents have been reported.

DUI-PDP supporters erected roadblocks at few crossroads in the capital Skopje. No incidents were reported during 30-minute blockades.

Roadblocks were erected on the Skopje-Tabanovce highway, including the entrance to Kumanovo, Makfax correspondent said, adding that turnout of protesters was fewer compared to Tuesday's protests. Members of Kumanovo City Council joined the protesters.

Protesters blocked the entrance road to Debar near Knauf factory. No blockades were reported on the road to Struga. Protesters said the Debar entrance blockade was enough to accomplish the goal.

Thirty-minute blockades occurred in Struga area. Protester turnout was similar to turnout reported in the past two days.

No incidents were reported during protests in Tetovo area, Makfax correspondent said, adding that turnout of protesters was higher compared to previous day.

The week-long blockades in country's northwest aim to express DUI's disapproval of exclusion from the new coalition government.
