DUI resumes protests across Macedonia

rotests staged by DUI continued today in Struga, Debar, Tetovo, Kumanovo and Skopje by erecting roadblocks at town's exit sections.

Demonstrations were carried out peacefully everywhere, except in Skopje, where three vehicles were damaged while setting up the blockades.

The protests, which lasted for half an hour from 09:30 to 10:30 hrs, are aimed at voicing discontent of DUI's omission from the future government, after 5 July general elections.

The roadblocks caused heavy traffic congestions. Aggravated passengers commented that no blockades should be set up in the peak of the summer holiday season.

The organizers announced resuming of protests in the following days.
