NLA Leadership “Slinked” in Macedonia’s Government Through 2001 Conflict: DPA co-Chair

Skopje/Sofia. The Albanians in Macedonia do not want to waste time and energy so that Ali Ahmeti and Musa Xhaferi can have positions in the government. This is what the co-chair of the Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) Iljaz Halimi told in an interview with FOCUS News Agency. According to him the Albanians were lied to in 2001 when they were told they would fulfill their dreams.

“This, however, didn’t happen. The only thing that happened was that the leadership of the National Liberation Army (NLA) “slinked” in the country’s government,” Iljaz Halimi said.

When asked to comment on the statements of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) that there should be a consensus democracy in Macedonia the DPA co-chair explained the ruling party and the opposition can seek a consensus only on matters of vital importance.

“A consensus only between the ruling party and the opposition is not enough,” Iljaz Halimi added.
