Law on Police Important for Macedonian Reform Agenda

Skopje. The adoption of the Law on Police is as a significant step forward in Macedonian efforts to complete its reform agenda, said the Mission of the European Union in Skopje, the Macedonian agency Makfax reported.
At the same time, the Mission expressed regrets of discordant stands on the key aspects of the law that surfaced in the process of legislation's adoption.
Therefore, EU Mission to Macedonia urged the ruling power and the opposition to pursue intensive dialogue in implementation of the law and adoption of the secondary legislation. Equal representation, internal control and the use of languages are the fields that call for improvement, EU Mission said in its statement released on the occasion of adoption of the Law on Police.
