Cable operators in Macedonia in trouble for broadcasting World Cup

Macedonia’s Council of Radio Diffusion (RDC) will press charges against cable operators for illegal rebroadcasting of the World Cup 2010. The Council made the decision at its latest session, after monitoring the cable operators which rebroadcast programmes.

“We will press charges against cable operators, which dare to rebroadcast entire programme packages, which haven’t been registered in the Radio Diffusion Council. Being the regulatory body we won’t tolerate breaking the law provisions,” the President of RDC, Zoran Stefanoski, said.

The Radio Diffusion Council pointed out that Macedonian Radio Television (MRT) is the one and only holder of the exclusive rights for rebroadcasting the World Cup 2010 in Macedonia.
