Observance of 5th anniversary from Karpalak attack

Service in honor of the ten members of the Macedonian Army (ARM) reserve structure from the Prilep garrison, who were killed during the 2001 conflict, was held at highway Tetovo-Skopje near area Karpalak.Metropolitan od Polog and Kumanovo Kiril performed the service. Families of the victims laid wreaths and flowers, followed by representatives of the Association of Prilep Reservists, outgoing Prime Minister and Defense Minister Vlado Buckovski and Jovan Manasijevski, delegation of the Association of Army and Police Veterans, as well as representatives of political parties and the diaspora.

According to information from the Defense Ministry, the project for construction of a monument of the killed defenders is to be adopted by the Culture Commission.

Five years ago, the Prilep convoy including 120 reservists was ambushed near area Karpalak. The attack claimed the lives of Nane Naumovski, Saso Kitanoski, Branko Sekuloski, Goran Minoski, Marko Despotoski, Erdovan Sabanoski, Ljube Grujoski, Darko Veljanoski, Pece Sekuloski and Vebi Rusidoski
