Crvenkovski says no direct threat against Macedonia is present

There are no direct security threats against Macedonia, President Branko Crvenkovski said on Wednesday.

Macedonia is facing no direct security threat at the moment, however, the very fact that the period of resolving of the Kosovo's status is approaching, implicates a certain risk, Crvenkovski said after his visit to the Intelligence Agency, which is under his direct competence.

As regards the current stands of Belgrade and Pristina over Kosovo, Crvenkovski said "the both sides are looking to build up as favorable negotiating position as possible ahead of the final proposal on the status".

"Nonetheless, it is clear that the international community will play the decisive role on this issue", Crvenkovski said.
