Macedonia to send 40 soldiers in IraMacedonia to send 40 soldiers in Iraqq

Macedonia will dispatch 35 soldiers and 5 commissioned officers of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia to Iraq, to take part in efforts for securing stability of this country.

The Government adopted this decision today. The Macedonian soldiers will be dispatched in December 2006 to serve a six-month tour within the Freedom for Iraq operation.

Pursuant to ratified SOFA agreements, Macedonia undertook obligation to take part in the peacekeeping operation in Iraq.
