Macedonia’s Stand on Kosovo to be in Concord with UN, EU and NATO

Skopje. NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said the Alliance would back the UN special envoy Marti Ahtisaari’s proposal for Kosovo, FOCUS News Agency correspondent in Skopje reported. After talks with Macedonia’s President Branko Crvenkovski in Brussels today, Scheffer pointed to the importance of the Balkan countries' support for Ahtisaari’s proposal. Crvenkovski stated that Macedonia, being a neighbour of Kosovo, was interested in finding a solution to the Kosovo status, which would mean a lasting stability in the region. He added that Macedonia’s stand on the issue would be in concord with the UN, EU and NATO.
