French firefighters to battle wildfires in Macedonia

Six French firefighters will arrive in Macedonia today to assist the ongoing efforts to contain the wildfires that rage across the woodland.

The French Embassy in Skopje confirmed the arrival of six firefighter experts, members of the association of firefighters of international emergency.

During their stay in Macedonia, they will work along with their Macedonian colleagues on the prevention of fires, on providing funds and logistics, coordination of firefighting on the ground and from the air, protection of persons and mobilizing the aid.

In the coming days, France will approve a donation to Macedonia, comprising a firefighting truck that operates in woodland and inaccessible mountainous terrain.
