The manager of T-Mobile Macedonia, R.Z., has been taken in a police precinct in Skopje late Wednesday for suspected involvement in criminal activities while holding the post of Healthcare Fund's Director.
A1 TV station cited police sources as saying that R.S. abused his power as head of the Fund to conclude a procurement agreement with a company that filed the less favorable bid on announced tender, thus incurring 15 million euro worth of damages to the Fund.
R.Z. was at the helm of the Fund for a short period in 2003, before piling public pressure induced by allegations that he misused his position to work out an internship to his wife, forced him to step down.
