Trade Deficit of Macedonia Increases

Skopje. Less than one month before the end of the year Macedonia is on the way to repeat its 2004 record - of trade deficit from USD 1.2 billion, A1 reports. According to the latest data the trade deficit of Macedonia reached USD 1.38 billion. The economic scientist claim that CEFTA’s enlargement which is expected to happen in 10 days time could increase the trade in the region but that will not mean automatic increase of Macedonian export. The Macedonian companies have to work more on the quality of the goods they produce.
The trade deficit of Macedonia marks a headlong increase – from USD 515 million in 1998 it reached USD 1.2 billion in the last year.
