No Anti-Bulgarian Campaign in Macedonia

Skopje/Sofia. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry handed a verbal note of protest yesterday to the Macedonian ambassador in Sofia, Abdurahman Aliti, the Macedonian television SITEL reported. The reason for the note was an attack on January 13 by unknown people against Bulgarian citizens and Macedonian Bulgarophiles, who had gathered to commemorate the death of Mara Bura in central Skopje, the media announced.
“The two sides stressed that the incident harmed the development of the relations between our countries and that measures should be taken to avert similar acts in the future”, Aliti told SITEL. He asserted that there was no anti-Bulgarian campaign in Macedonia.
