30% of Macedonians Live on the Verge of Poverty

Skopje. 30% of the population in Macedonia live on the verge of poverty, there is great unemployment and many children do not visit school, Nova Macedonia reports citing UN evaluation. The discussion is organized on the occasion of 10th December – the Day of Human Rights and it was pointed out that the fight for human rights was connected with fight against poverty. All issues around unemployment, poverty, equal opportunities and human rights are mutually connected.
The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Ljupco Meskov said that the ministry will do everything necessary for extermination of poverty in Macedonia. The ministry had prepared special operational plan for active policy of employment in which the target groups are the disabled people, lonely parents, parents of disabled children, the newspaper wrote.
