MACEDONIAN CULTURE AND CULINARY FESTIVAL IN CANBERRA

The st. Kliment Ohridski church in Canberra, Australia marked it's anniversary with a festival of Macedonian Culture and Food, where folklore embroidery, traditional clothes, elements from Macedonian cuisine, terra-cotta icons from Macedonia and paintings from Macedonian artists from Canberra were presented, Mia news agency reports.

Several Macedonian culture societies from the Australian cities of Rockdale, Queanbeyan, Wollongong and Sydney held performances, while Macedonian traditional clothes were presented in a fashion show. Also, the Macedonian traditional instruments were displayed before the Australian audiences, as well as specialties from the Macedonian cuisine.

MD: While this was going on the Australian tv channel 7 was broadcasting the traditional christmas and new year carnival in Perth, where the Macedonian community played a big part, in presenting folklore clothes and providing an overview of the history of the Macedonians in West Australia.
